Horatio Scott Carslaw (1852–1911) was a notable British mathematician, recognized particularly for his contributions to the field of mathematical physics. He is best known for his work in heat conduction and potential theory. One of his significant contributions to mathematics is the book “Conduction of Heat in Solids,” co-authored with James Cedric Jaeger, which has been influential in the study of heat transfer.
