Niccolò Tartaglia (1499–1557) was an Italian mathematician, engineer, and translator known for his contributions to mathematics, particularly in the fields of algebra and projectile motion. He is best known for his work on the solution of cubic equations, which he published in his book "General Trattato di Numeri e Misure." Tartaglia was instrumental in the development of the mathematical technique known as the "cubic formula.
