Planetary transits and occultations are astronomical events that involve the movement of celestial bodies across the sky, particularly in relation to their positions with respect to the Earth and the Sun. ### Planetary Transits - **Definition**: A planetary transit occurs when a planet moves across the face of the Sun as viewed from Earth.
