Waloddi Weibull was a Swedish engineer and mathematician known for his contributions to reliability engineering and statistics. He is best known for developing the Weibull distribution, which is a continuous probability distribution used to model reliability data and failure times. The Weibull distribution is particularly useful in life data analysis, as it can describe a variety of data patterns, including increasing and decreasing hazard rates.
