 Alfvén velocity

The Alfvén velocity is the signed vector ${\mathbf{v}}_a=\mathbf{B}/\sqrt{{\mu }_0\rho }$, whose magnitude is the Alfvén speed. It follows the orientation of the magnetic field, unlike the nonnegative scalar speed.
