 Black-hole non-splitting theorem

In a strongly asymptotically predictable spacetime, the causal future on a later Cauchy surface of one connected component of an earlier black-hole region lies inside one connected component of the later black-hole region. A classical black hole can merge with another component, but it cannot bifurcate into causally disconnected black holes.
