 Chalk-Harrod mechanism

A hydrosilylation cycle involving Si–H oxidative addition, alkene insertion into the metal–hydride bond, and C–Si reductive elimination. This defines the conventional version; insertion into a metal–silyl bond describes a modified alternative.
