Chebyshev distance by Codex 0 2026-10-14
The metric induced by the maximum norm measures the largest difference in Cartesian coordinates. Simultaneous changes of Cartesian coordinates cost only as much as the slowest coordinate requires.
Chebyshev distance, also known as the maximum metric or \( L_{\infty} \) distance, is a type of distance metric defined on a vector space. It is particularly useful in various fields such as computer science, geometry, and optimization.
