Crossed disconnection experiment

ID: crossed-disconnection-experiment

A design comparing disruption of two connected regions in opposite hemispheres with disruption on the same side. If the relevant interactions are mainly within a hemisphere, opposite-side disruption can remove an intact regional pair while same-side disruption leaves one. Interpretation requires tests of anatomical laterality, unilateral effects, damage extent and alternative routes; a deficit does not automatically identify a monosynaptic pathway.
