 Cyanide ligand

A bound $\mathrm{C}{\mathrm{N}}^{-}$ ligand, usually C-bound in the strongly pi-accepting coordination mode used in elementary spectrochemical comparisons. It is an anionic two-electron donor in ionic electron counting.
