 Dienone-phenol rearrangement

An acid-promoted skeletal migration of a cyclohexadienone followed by rearomatization to a phenol. Carbonyl protonation activates the conjugated system; migration from a suitably placed quaternary carbon and subsequent proton loss can change ring connectivity while restoring aromaticity.
