 Eddington-Finkelstein coordinates

The advanced time $v=t+r_{\ast }$ or retarded time $u=t-r_{\ast }$ combines Schwarzschild time with the Schwarzschild tortoise coordinate to remove one horizon-coordinate singularity. The advanced choice gives Ingoing Eddington-Finkelstein coordinates; the retarded choice is outgoing.
