Fixed-point iteration
ID: fixed-point-iteration
Fixed-point iteration seeks a fixed point of a map by repeatedly setting . Convergence requires additional hypotheses; for example, a contraction mapping on a complete metric space has a unique fixed point reached by this iteration.
Fixed-point iteration is a numerical method used to find a solution to equations of the form \( x = g(x) \).
