 Gantmacher theorem

For Banach spaces $X,Y$ and bounded $T:X\to Y$, the following are equivalent: $T$ is weakly compact; $T^{\ast \ast }(X^{\ast \ast })\subseteq J_Y(Y)$; and $T^{\ast }$ is weakly compact.
