For an ensemble $\{p_x,{\rho }_x\}$ with average $\bar{\rho }$, the Holevo quantity is $\chi =S(\bar{\rho })-{\sum }_x{p}_{x}S({\rho }_x)=I(X:B)$ of the associated classical-quantum state.
