If $g_{\mu \nu }={\eta }_{\mu \nu }+h_{\mu \nu }$, then $g^{\mu \nu }={\eta }^{\mu \nu }-h^{\mu \nu }+O(h^2)$, with indices on $h$ raised using the background metric.
