 Mémoire sur l'élimination by Alexandre-Théophile Vandermonde

Published in the 1772 second-part academy volume, printed 1776, pp. 516–532. The linked research article by Bernard Ycart reproduces and explains the primary coefficient notation in §2.1 and supplies the original-edition reference. It should not be mistaken for a direct link to the complete eighteenth-century memoir.
