An orientable smooth manifold is a smooth $n$-manifold that admits a smoothly varying orientation of its tangent spaces. Equivalently, it has an atlas whose coordinate-transition Jacobian determinants are positive, or a nowhere-vanishing smooth top-degree differential form.
