 Past null infinity

Past null infinity is the ideal boundary from which incoming null geodesics arrive in an asymptotically flat spacetime. In the Minkowski conformal compactification it is $T-R=-\pi$, with the retarded coordinate tending to $-\infty$ and the advanced coordinate finite.
