 Penrose wave equation

In a Ricci-flat spacetime, the Penrose wave equation is a nonlinear covariant wave equation for the Riemann tensor. Its principal part is ${\nabla }^e{\nabla }_e{R}_{abcd}$ and its lower-order terms are quadratic contractions of curvature.
