Polar amplification is greater temperature change at high latitudes than in the global mean. Ice-albedo feedback, the vertical structure of atmospheric warming, the temperature dependence of radiative cooling, ocean heat storage, clouds and energy transport all contribute; the balance differs between the Arctic and Antarctic and between seasons.
