 Ray tracing

Ray tracing follows the paths along which a slowly modulated wave packet propagates. For a local dispersion relation $\omega =\Omega (\mathbf{k};\mathbf{x},t)$, the ray velocity is the group velocity ${\nabla }_{\mathbf{k}}\Omega$.
