An algebra involution on a complex <associative algebra> is a <conjugate-linear map> satisfying $(xy)^*=y^*x^*$ and $(x^*)^*=x$. It fixes the identity when one exists. A star algebra is an algebra equipped with such a map. These algebraic identities do not themselves impose <norm> <continuity> or the <C-star identity>.
