The Algol paradox is the apparently inconsistent evolutionary ordering in an <Algol binary>: the less massive star is more evolved, whereas higher-mass isolated <main sequence> stars normally exhaust core fuel sooner. <Binary mass-ratio reversal> resolves it by identifying the present donor as the initially more massive star.
