The Beth numbers ℶ0=ℵ0, ℶn+1=2ℶn form a strictly increasing countable sequence by Cantor's theorem. Their supremum ℶω has cofinality ω because no finite subset is cofinal. It exceeds 2ℵ0=ℶ1. It is also a strong limit cardinal: if ρ<ℶω, some n has ρ<ℶn, so 2ρ≤ℶn+1<ℶω. Thus the singular cardinal example needs no Continuum hypothesis.
