Let L/K have degree d with gcd(d,n)=1. If a=xn∈K for some x∈L, then
ad=NL/K(x)n.
(1)
Choosing r,s∈Z with rd+sn=1 gives
a=(NL/K(x)ras)n,
(2)
so a was already an nth power in K.
