One quarter each went to Raymond Davis Jr. and Masatoshi Koshiba for pioneering astrophysics through detection of cosmic neutrinos. One half went to Riccardo Giacconi for pioneering astrophysics leading to the discovery of cosmic X-ray sources.[ref]
