Pairwise distinct cardinalities do not prevent a countable family from having a largest member. For example, take X1=ℵω and Xn+2=ℵn for n<ω, viewing cardinals as initial ordinals. Every later set is a subset of X1, so
⋃n≥1Xn=X1

although all the cardinalities are different.
