Eleven-dimensional supergravity contains a metric, a three-form potential and a gravitino. Its bosonic on-shell counts are $11(11-3)/2=44$ for the metric and $\binom93=84$ for the three-form, totaling $128$. Flat toroidal zero-mode reduction gives <type IIA supergravity> in ten dimensions and <four-dimensional N=8 supergravity> in four dimensions without losing these bosonic polarizations.
