= Geometric continuity
{title2=$G^k$}
Joined regular <parametric curves> have order-$k$ <geometric continuity> when their local images admit compatible orientation-preserving regular parameter choices with matching <derivatives> through order $k$. At order one the nonzero one-sided tangent <vectors> must be positive scalar multiples. At order two the oriented bending must also match: equality of unsigned <curvature> alone does not suffice if the <curves> bend to opposite sides.
