Joined regular parametric curves have order-k geometric continuity when their local images admit compatible orientation-preserving regular parameter choices with matching derivatives through order k. At order one the nonzero one-sided tangent vectors must be positive scalar multiples. At order two the oriented bending must also match: equality of unsigned curvature alone does not suffice if the curves bend to opposite sides.
