An ordered basis (g1​,…,gd​) of a complete finite-rank p-valued group gives each element a unique convergent expression g1λ1​​⋯gdλd​​ with λi​∈Zp​, and its valuation is the minimum of ω(gi​)+vp​(λi​) over the nonzero coordinates.
