An <organelle> is a specialized subcellular structure. Usage varies over whether non-membrane-bounded structures such as <ribosomes> count as <organelles>, so explicitly say membrane-bounded <organelles> when comparing <eukaryotic> compartmentalization with <prokaryotic> organization. <Mitochondria> and <chloroplasts> are membrane-bounded examples.
