\b[True.] The <determinant> gives a <group homomorphism>
$$
\det:O(3)\longrightarrow\{1,-1\},\qquad \det(AB)=\det(A)\det(B).
$$
For an <orthogonal matrix>, $A^TA=I$ implies $(\det A)^2=1$, and a reflection has <determinant> $-1$, so the target has order two and the map is onto. Its <kernel of a group homomorphism> is exactly
$$
\boxed{\ker(\det)=SO(3).}
$$
This is the defining <special orthogonal group> inside the <orthogonal group>.
