Separation of variables with u=X(x)Y(y) and the three homogeneous boundary conditions gives Xn=sin(nπx) and Yn=sinh(nπy). The boundary value at y=1 contains only the third Fourier sine series mode. Therefore
u(x,y)=2sinh(3π)sinh(3πy)sin(3πx).
(1)
This harmonic function has all four prescribed boundary values.
