For B=B(Γ,ρ) write B1+κ=B(Γ,(1+κ)ρ). It is a Regular Bohr set when
∣B1+κ∣=(1+O(d∣κ∣))∣B∣
(1)
whenever d=∣Γ∣ and ∣κ∣≤c/d, with absolute constants in the O-term and in c.
Not every width is regular. In G=Z/3Z, let γ(x)=e2πix/3 and take ρ=3. Then B({γ},ρ)=G, but every arbitrarily small decrease of the width leaves only 0. The size jumps from three to one, contradicting the required linear control as κ→0−.
