This may be false when the limiting functions are unbounded. On X=R, let
fn(x)=f(x)=x,gn(x)=x+n1,g(x)=x.
(1)
Both sequences converge uniformly to their stated limits, but
fngn−fg=nx
(2)
is unbounded for every n. Thus the products do not converge uniformly.
