Regularity at the center requires m(0)=0 and a finite central density ρc. The equation of state fixes pc=p(ρc), and the regular central series begins
m(r)=34πρcr3+O(r5),p(r)=pc+O(r2).
(1)
For each admissible ρc, ordinary-differential-equation uniqueness determines m,p,ρ outward until the first zero of p, which defines R. The remaining additive constant in Φ is fixed by matching to the exterior Schwarzschild time coordinate. Thus smooth stars form a one-parameter family labelled uniquely by ρc.
