The Linearity of Stokes flow makes every velocity linear in G1. The only available isotropic polar vector built from the axial vector G1 and separation vector R is G1×R. Dimensional analysis then gives
Ui=αi(R/a)μa3G1×R.
(1)
An angular velocity is axial, so the two independent isotropic possibilities are G1 and (G1⋅R)R. Hence
Ωi=μa31[βi(R/a)G1+γi(R/a)R2(G1⋅R)R],
(2)
for dimensionless scalar functions βi,γi.
