Let m be maximal in Q[T1,…,Tn] and put
K=Q[T1,…,Tn]/m.
(1)
The Zariski lemma makes K a finite extension of Q. Base change gives
C[T1,…,Tn]/mC[T1,…,Tn]≅C⊗QK.
(2)
This ring is nonzero because the field extension makes C a faithfully flat module over Q. Choose a maximal ideal n of the quotient, or equivalently a maximal ideal of C[T1,…,Tn] containing mC[T1,…,Tn]. Its contraction to the rational polynomial ring contains m and is proper, so maximality of m forces
n∩Q[T1,…,Tn]=m.
