<Polymer bridging> occurs when one <polymer> chain attaches to more than one particle, producing an effective attraction or network connection. Surface affinity and incomplete coverage are essential to this mechanism. It should be distinguished from both <steric stabilization> by densely coated particles and the <depletion force> produced by nonadsorbing chains.
