A solution route in which a polyol serves as <solvent> and reducing medium for metal <nucleation> and growth. For <silver> wires, controlled seed structure and capping chemistry can favour axial growth. <Temperature>, <reduction> rate, seed population, halides, oxygen and <ligand> coverage act together; the method is not defined by a single universal recipe.
