A solution route in which a polyol serves as solvent and reducing medium for metal nucleation and growth. For silver wires, controlled seed structure and capping chemistry can favour axial growth. Temperature, reduction rate, seed population, halides, oxygen and ligand coverage act together; the method is not defined by a single universal recipe.
