Pore velocity
= Pore velocity
{title2=$v=q/\phi$}
= Interstitial velocity
{synonym}
The mean advective fluid speed within the connected pore volume, distinct from <Darcy velocity> defined per bulk cross-sectional area. For uniform <porosity> $\phi$ and saturated flow, $v=q/\phi$. Parcel travel times and solute <advection> use this velocity, while pressure-flow relations normally use the bulk-area <Darcy flux>.
