Preferred longitude of an unknot
= Preferred longitude of an unknot
The exterior of an <unknot> is a <solid torus>. Inclusion of its boundary kills exactly the primitive <Seifert longitude>, so every essential simple closed curve bounding a disk in that exterior is isotopic, as an unoriented curve, to that longitude. The bounding disk need not avoid other link components.
