Purely inseparable polynomial over a rational function field
= Purely inseparable polynomial over a rational function field
Over $K=\mathbb F_p(t)$, the polynomial $X^p-t$ is irreducible by the <Eisenstein criterion> in $\mathbb F_p[t][X]$. In any extension containing a root $\alpha$, characteristic $p$ gives
$$
X^p-t=X^p-\alpha^p=(X-\alpha)^p.
$$
It therefore has exactly one distinct root, of multiplicity $p$.
