Over K=Fp(t), the polynomial Xp−t is irreducible by the Eisenstein criterion in Fp[t][X]. In any extension containing a root α, characteristic p gives
Xp−t=Xp−αp=(X−α)p.

It therefore has exactly one distinct root, of multiplicity p.
