Radiation buildup factor ($B(\mu t)$)

A factor accounting for scattered radiation that contributes to a specified response beyond the uncollided exponential attenuation. It depends on material, geometry, spectrum and the response being counted; $B(x)=1+x$ is a stipulated simple model, not a universal law.
