A dimensionless statistical weight per microscopic <phase vortex> core. In a dilute convention it is $y_0\simeq\exp[-E_c/(k_BT)]$, with core energy $E_c$ and a specified microscopic integration measure. Its numerical normalization fixes coefficients in the <vortex-pair renormalization flow>.
