= Worldsheet metric

The intrinsic Lorentzian metric in the <Polyakov action> is independent of the <string embedding map>. Its equation relates it conformally to the <induced worldsheet metric>. A <Weyl transformation> changes the intrinsic metric without changing the classical action.
